I kind of stan Matt and Glenn, but I know it's possible that I might regret it one day if either one does something morally wrong or dishonest. Since I haven't known that to happen in all the years I've read their work I don't consider it likely, but there was a time when I was sure TYT would never be immoral or dishonest, and my faith in *them* sure turned out to be misplaced. So it's true that the more people you stan, the greater the risk of that happening and of you being unable to acknowledge it because you are *sure* they're better than that.
I read Caity Johnstone, and I don't always agree with all her stances.
I don't always agree with all my own stances, for that matter.
That said, there's no reason to stan for anyone.
