In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is actually not king at all
Here’s what happens to the one-eyed man in the land of the blind:
The one-eyed man will see things, and he’ll tell all the blind people about them.
The blind people won’t believe him, because they can’t see these things for themselves.
The blind people will then say that the guy who can see (but has lousy depth perception) is lying, or crazy. And if he’s lying, they will say, then he’s probably doing it because the BAD blind people in the OTHER land of the blind are paying him to deceive them.
They’ll call him a traitor, they’ll ostracize him, and later on they will all die in a nuclear holocaust because they didn’t listen. Oops, I guess it stopped being an analogy at the end there, didn’t it?
